Form of Government

Absolute Elven monarchy.

Elven monarchs control the flow of
energy and water throughout their
kingdom. Without them, the elementals
would sleep, the land would dry up,
and flora would die.

The original Western River monarchy
was overthrown by the Onyx Empire and
replaced with Empress Amarla's
youngest brother - Correlius. His line
remains on the throne.

Of the remaining Elven kingdoms, the
Western River is the strongest and the
largest. Prestilin is its capitol,
though it can't be found on an
ordinary map. Elven maps are coded
with spells so as not to be understood
by mortal eyes.

Terrain & Climate

Being Elven land, dense woods and
thick moss cover the wet soil. An
exceptional number of rivers and
streams flow through the Western
River. Its large Elven population
allows for greater energy production
which translates into greater control
of the water cycle, energy cycle, and
elementals. The Western River also has
a denser growth of energy storing
plants and algae for this reason.

Despite frequent rain and constant
fog, the Western River Kingdom is very
warm due to sparks of energy given off
by energy storing plants and algae in
the water & wet soil.

Populace

At 3.2 million Elves, the Western
River Kingdom is one of the most
powerful nations of West New Pangaea.
Completely self-reliant, few resources
are imported or exported.

Its current king, Andraste, maintained
an isolationist policy throughout most
of his reign, banning the entry of any
"non-Elf."

Their military is renowned for its
archers, thus the symbol on the
Western River's flag. Victory against
its long time enemy, Gildon would have
been certain if not for Gildon's
development of plastic tools and
shields. (Plastic is resistant to
magic of all forms.)

Note from Ness

The idea for this country came from a
drive through Colorado. I love all the
streams of water that run through
Colorado's fields. Everything was so
green and lush. Stir in some magic,
dense woods and moss and poof - the
Western River Kingdom.
